What are black soldier fly larvae?
Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) are the soft-bodied larvae of the black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens. You’ll also see them sold as soldier worms. Keepers use them as a feeder for bearded dragons, leopard geckos, chameleons, frogs and backyard chickens. They’re known for their calcium content, and like any feeder they work best as part of a varied diet.
